In recent months I have had the great pleasure of working with New Mexico artist John Brandi. I first found John’s work within the pages of Bill Porter’s chapbooks. John’s Haiga paintings jumped out at me, a perfect fit for THE MOUNTAIN PATH. I feel his work occupies two realms of the film - Zen landscape-gazing, and the beat-generation spirit of searching adventure that inspired my journey to China’s Zhongnan Mountains so many years ago.
